Neil Krug, 1983, USA, is a photographer and director based in Los Angeles. Together with his girlfriend, now wife, Joni Harbeck, he founded Pulp Art Book, a collection of photography and commercial work in limited edition prints, books and films. In 2011 he released the LP-sized Pulp Art Book: Volume One with images of Joni shot with polaroid film years past its sell-by date. The narrative photographs remind us of spaghetti westerns and the artistic expressions of the 60s and 70s in B-movies and on LP covers. Pulp Art Book: Volume Two is expected to be released in June of 2012. This time the Poliziotteschi films were a major influence. Neil has created a vast amount of CD / LP covers for bands as My Chemical Romance, Scissor Sisters, Ladytron and The Pierces. Among his commercial clients are Warner Bros. Tereza Vlčková, 1983, Czech Republic, is a conceptual and fine-art photographer currently studying at the Silesian University in Opava, the Institute of Creative Photography. In 2007 she completed the series A Perfect Day, Elise... showing floating girls with a mountainous background. Since then she has been in numerous exhibitions amongst which are Paris Photo in 2010 and 2011 and the traveling reGeneration2 group show. Throughout her series we find deeper layers dealing with themes as fear, the self and dreams. In her series Two she photographed indentical twins in a scary forest setting. The project deals with the questions of the "I" and the psychology of how we perceive ourselves. She seeks a fine line between fiction and reality. Are all of the twins truly twins or have some been created merely showing an alter-ego of some of the girls? Her work has been featured in a large number of photography / art magazines and catalogs as Exit, Picnic and Photonews. Magdalena Wosinska, 1983, Poland, moved to the USA in 1991 and is currently based in Los Angeles. She works on lifestyle, editorial and commercial photography with a very personal signature. For the large part it is shot in the same style as her personal work. In her photography Magdalena invites you to enter her world of which she is not only an secret observer, but an active player herself. She often appears in her own images. It's a snapshot representation of the American way of life, full of parties, tattoo's, beards, rock bands, alcohol and nudity, often set within the American landscape and bright sunlight. Her images are intimate and contain a very loose quality. For Magdalena the moment is much more important than using the most sofisticated technology. In 2010 she released the book Bite It You Scum. Jamie Nelson, 1983, USA, is a fashion and beauty photographer based in New York. She studied Advertising Photography at the Brooks Institute of Photography. She graduated in 2005 and has since been productive while specializing in editorial and advertising photography. In 2011 she photographed Dinara Chetyrova for the July issue of Elle Vietnam. The series is colorful, strong and empowering. Her work has been published in numerous publications as Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Vogue and the Cosmopolitan. Photographer #391: Munem Wasif

Munem Wasif, 1983, Bangladesh, is a socially engaged photojournalist who graduated from Pathshala, South Asian Media Academy. His photographic career started as a feature photographer for the Daily Star. In 2007 Munem was selected for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass and later won the PrixPictet commission to document a water project in Bangladesh. This resulted in the series Salty Tears showing how the salt water invades the lands bringing not only destruction, but also leading to a lack of drinking water. The project was released as a book in 2011. Wasif has focused on subjects dealing with climate change and its devastating results, economic problems within Bangladesh, political refugees from Myanmar, political and ethnic crisis in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste and the subject of religion, especially the Islam. In 2008 his book Bangladesh, Standing on the Edge was released. Bryan Schutmaat, 1983, USA, is a documentary photographer who received a BA in History at the University of Houston in 2009. In 2012 he anticipates to earn his MFA in Photography at the University of Hartford. He focuses mainly on portraying rural America, its identity and the inhabitants of the small towns in a poetic fashion. In his series Western Frieze, Bryan did so in the American West, looking at landscapes and interiors in sleepy towns and lonely environments. The US roadside culture plays a major role in the series in which no humans appear, yet we sence their presence. He states that his images are not meant to be a pure documentation, but rather a portrait of what American identity means to him. His latest series Grays the Mountain Sends is a combination of portraits and landscapes taken in small mountain towns and mining communities in the American West. He has exhibited his work extensively throughout the world. The following works come from the series Grays the Mountain Sends, Western Frieze and Heartland.

Nicholas Alan Cope, 1983, USA, is a photographer who focuses on product, architectural and still-life photography. He graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. His work began by focusing on the essential components of LA architecture, creating a set of parameters for photographing the city. Then he moved on to capturing the landscape of LA. Both projects combined formed an idealized survey of the city. The visual language created in these bodies of work is clearly visible in his other works. However, in some bodies of work it is a reaction in opposition to them. Works as Paper or Lipstick contain strong and edgy forms, whilst his still-lifes are much more organic and remind us of the great painters. Within the variety Nicholas states that his aim is always "to present the subject directly and maintain visual clarity". The following images come from the series Paper, Abstract II and Architecture II.

Arnau Blanch Vilageliu, 1983, is a Spanish documentary photographer who lives and works between Spain and Colombia. He studied photography at the Institut d'Estudis Fotografics de Catalunya. He completed a six month internship at WpN in New York and participated at two workshops at ICP in documentary photography. In his hometown Barcelona he delved into the world of sex. It is a search for human identity, exploring a range of people who's lives are dominated by sex. In gritty and dark images he shows us people who might use sex as a way of expression and others who need it as a means of survival. Shadows of Paradise is made in Colombia. Arnau shows us the darkness in a place that might, due to the lucious color of the jungle, look like a paradise at first glance. Arnau's narrative photography is raw and instinctive. Justin Maxon, 1983, USA, is a documentary photographer who focuses on long-term projects that examine the complexities of human struggle. In his ongoing project Streets is Raw he concentrates on the highly impoverished Tenderloin district in San Francisco where he photographs and documents the various issues, drug addiction, mental health issues and the threat of disease and death, that the people are facing in this region. His project Children of Agent Orange focuses on the second and third generation of people in Vietnam that are affected by the Agent Orange poisoning. The chemicals sprayed by the US on Vietnam during the war have tremedous effects on young Vietnamese people today. Mui and Pha is a story of a mother and her young son living homeless in the streets of Hanoi. Justin has received numerous awards as the first prize in the 2007 World Press Photo Daily Life singles category and he was named one of the PDN's 30 emerging photographers to watch. Anastasia Cazabon, 1983, USA, is a conceptual photographer from Cambridge, MA. Her photography is raw, very personal and poetic. In her series From the Secret World she focused on her own childhood, especially the transitional period between the ages 9 to 15, the period when girls become aware of the world around them and how they are portrayed which brings along insecurities, excitement, jealousy and narcissism. The produced images by Anastasia revolve around the secret yet everyday lives of adolescent girls. The series Stories grew out of her fascination with fairy tales and children's folklore. The photographs are her contemporary take on the stories that have influenced her portraying characters in a state of emotional immobilization or a moment of self-discovery.
